Once again the thunder of hooves will echo at the Malakpet racecourse as the Hyderabad Race Club (HRC) resumes racing from Monday, March 9. The Stewards of HRC have decided to conduct a short season comprising six race days. Racing returns after a gap of nearly five months following the outbreak of an equine disease that had brought the sport to a standstill across southern India. The club received the necessary clearance from the National Research Centre on Equines (NRCE) to restart racing activities. Keeping in view the rising temperatures in Hyderabad with the onset of summer, the Stewards have scheduled the races in the evening, from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with short intervals between races. Dates of racing: March: 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 & 24.
