Speaking to press persons in Shivamogga here on Saturday, Mr. Jnanendra said that corruption in the Home Department had increased because police officers were getting postings by paying heavy bribes. “Soon, a day will come when the police officers will resort to robbery to make money. As they get a prime posting by paying a high bribe, they have to collect the same from the public,” he said. Mr. Jnanendra said the Home Minister had lost control over his department. “The Chief Minister’s son and the Deputy Chief Minister’s younger brother are managing the department. The situation has become worse as the police, in Bengaluru city, are demanding money even to register complaints,” the former minister alleged.
