District Collector and Election Officer Vishnu Mahajan participates in a voters awareness sports programme at Kovilpatti on Wednesday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT Thoothukudi District Collector and District Election Officer Vishu Mahajan inaugurated a voter awareness hockey tournament at the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu’s hockey ground in Kovilpatti on Wednesday, as part of the Systemic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. Speaking at the event Mr. Mahajan drew parallels between sports and election. He stated that just as players are crucial for the match, voters are important in elections. He added that in hockey, scoring goals and passing the ball are vital, and similarly in elections, every vote counts.
