Hit-and-run accident in Champapet leaves a 28-year-old man critically injured

A 28-year-old private employee sustained serious injuries after a car rammed into his two-wheeler in a hit-and-run incident at Champapet in the early hours of Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The victim was identified as Deverashetty Sunil, a resident of Sai Ram Colony in Saidabad. According to the Saidabad police, the victim was riding back home around 12.30 a.m. at Green Park Colony on Champapet Main Road when an unidentified car rammed into his motorcycle from the rear and fled the spot without stopping

Sunil sustained serious injuries in the impact and fell unconscious at the scene. He was immediately shifted to a private hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical.

Police have registered a hit-and-run case and said efforts are underway to trace the vehicle involved. CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being examined as part of the investigation.
