Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) concluded a training programme for 25 unemployed youth from marginalized sections of society on Monday (March 30). Operated under the shipyard’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the three-month residential programme was conducted at the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) from January 2 to March 30.

All 25 candidates qualifying for the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) 3G certification. This certification is a globally recognised benchmark in the maritime industry, validating the technical proficiency and safety standards of the welders. During the valedictory ceremony held in the city, D. Srinivasa Rao, chief general manager of HSL, emphasised the vast employment prospects now available to them, according to a release here.
