Owing to road reconstruction work on the Kollegal-Chellampalayam stretch from Ramapura – Naal Road in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply through Bargur Hills between April 6 and 16. A release said that heavy vehicles with more than six wheels are temporarily prohibited on the Bargur-Kollegal route and must take alternative roads to reach Kollegal and Chamarajanagar. Vehicles should take the Sathyamangalam – Dhimbam – Hasanur, Punajanur route to reach Chamarajanagar while vehicles should take Sathyamangalam – Dhimbam – Arthanaripura, Lokkanahalli, Punajanur to reach Hanur. The restriction is temporary and will remain in force until road works are completed, the release added.
