The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary to take immediate and positive steps to comply with Section 43 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act to create awareness among the general public, children and parents on the the uncompromising provisions of the Act. Justice N. Mala directed the Chief Secretary, apart from the measures provided under Section 43 of the Act, consider conducting camps in government schools and colleges for creating awareness about the POCSO Act and its dire consequences and consider conducting similar camps and seminars in private schools and colleges.
