The Haryana budget outlay for 2026-27 has gone up by 10.28% to ₹2,23,658.17 crore compared to the previous budget, but the allocation for education as percentage of the total expenditure has marginally dipped in the current budget. Presenting his second budget, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini earmarked ₹22,915.27 crore for the elementary, secondary and the higher education for the 2026-27 financial year, which is 10.24% of the total outlay. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled government had earmarked 10.59% of the total outlay for the education sector in the previous budget. As per the budget estimates for 2025-26, the Haryana government had allocated ₹21,722.79 crore for the education against the total expenditure of ₹2,05,017.29 crore. It included ₹.3,874.09 crore for the higher education.
