Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha and Union Minister J.P. Nadda has placed calls to the floor leaders of Opposition parties to build unanimity. President Droupadi Murmu nominated him to the House following a vacancy created by the retirement of former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. Mr. Harivansh’s second term as a Rajya Sabha member ended on April 9.
