The grand finale of ‘KITE Haritha Vidyalayam 4.0,’ an educational reality show organised by Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) to share best practices and encourage excellence in the State’s public schools, will be held on Saturday.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will present the awards at the event, to be held at Al-Saj Convention Centre, Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram, at 3 p.m. Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty will preside over the function.

Prize money and ICT equipment to the tune of ₹50 lakh will be awarded in this competition, which honors schools and students who have demonstrated excellence through original and innovative activities.

Special awards will be given to schools securing first, second, and third positions in the primary and secondary/higher secondary categories, as well as in the ‘special jury award’ and ‘finalist’ categories.

Special prizes have also been arranged for 16 children who showcased outstanding performance among the nearly two lakh students who participated in various stages of the show.

Eighty-six schools, selected from 825 applicant schools across the State, competed in the first round of the educational reality show. The winners are chosen from the 26 schools that advanced to the second round.

General Education Secretary K. Vasuki, Director of General Education Umesh N.S.K., and KITE chief executive officer K. Anvar Sadath will attend the function.

The grand finale will be telecast live on the KITE Victers channel and be available on the KITE Victers portal, Facebook page, and the ‘itsvicters’ YouTube channel, a statement here on Friday said.
