Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy alleged that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA T. Harish Rao is confused and rattled after being rejected by the people in the recently held Municipal elections in Telangana.

Reacting to Mr. Rao’s comments, he said tall words such as self-rule, identity, self-respect and dignity sounded hollow in the context of the BRS’s ten-year rule.

He pointed out that the BRS had drawn a ‘çlean zero’ in successive elections, including Lok Sabha, Corporation and Municipal polls, and asserted that people were no longer paying attention to what he termed as “petty statements” of the BRS leaders.

The Congress MP accused Mr. Rao of staging dramas in the name of letters and misleading the public. Clarifying the issue of governance, he rejected the BRS leader’s allegations of party meetings in New Delhi and said, “Unlike the BRS, there is no farmhouse governance without a Cabinet.”

He said senior Congress leaders were invited by the party high command to discuss organisational matters. Mr. Reddy asserted that only the Congress could protect Telangana’s identity and self-respect, recalling that the State was formed due to the efforts of Congress senior leader Sonia Gandhi.

Drawing a comparison, he said the Congress high command functions from New Delhi, while the BRS leadership operates from a farmhouse.
