The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has intensified its revenue collection drive as the 2025-26 financial year enters its final 24 hours. The GVMC has 6.02 lakh tax assessments. As of March 30, the civic body is said to have recovered approximately ₹560 crore in property taxes, achieving nearly 95% of its ambitious annual target of ₹600 crore. To facilitate last-minute payments and ensure the target is met, all “Saukarayam” counters at the GVMC headquarters and zonal offices remained operational throughout the weekend and will continue to function until late evening on the final day of the fiscal year, according to the GVMC sources.
