As part of Swachh Survekshan activities, officials of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation organised a Promise for Clean Vizag programme at Kota Narava Zilla Parishad High School in Ward No. 88 of Pendurthi Zone on Friday. Students were sensitised to the importance of sanitation, proper segregation of waste into wet and dry categories, disposal of garbage in designated dustbins and reduction in the use of plastic. Addressing the gathering, Additional Commissioner P. Nallanayya said the objective of organising such programmes was to instil a sense of responsibility towards cleanliness among students at a young age. The students later took a pledge to contribute to building a clean and green Visakhapatnam. Drawing competitions on the theme Clean Vizag were conducted, with enthusiastic participation from students.
