RAJU The five-year tenure of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) council concluded on Tuesday (March 17, 2026). District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad will assume charge as the Special Officer of the GVMC on Wednesday (March 18). On the final day of the council, several corporators participated in the development activities across different wards, ensuring that ongoing works were expedited. Many areas witnessed a push in infrastructure projects such as road extensions, drainage systems, and underground drainage (UGD) works, with corporators urging officials to complete pending projects at the earliest.
