Gurramguda area will have its third urban forest park soon on a large patch of land thanks to a recently resolved legal disputes.

The Government of Telangana has declared the Gurramguda forest area in the Amangal Division as a Reserve Forest, bringing an end to years of legal disputes over the land. The land in Sahebnagar Kalan village, had been under dispute for several years. The matter, widely referred to as the Sahebnagar Kalan case, was heard in multiple courts over a prolonged period before the Supreme Court of India ultimately upheld the claim of the Forest Department.

According to a statement issued by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests C. Suvarna, the government issued orders through the Environment, Forests, Science and Technology Department, notifying 424 acres and 31 guntas of forest land in Gurramguda as Reserve Forest under Section 15 of the Telangana Forest Act, 1967.

With the notification, the legal process related to the land has been completed and the forest area now enjoys official Reserve Forest status, providing stronger legal protection. The State government has also decided to develop the area into a large Urban Forest Park, the statement said.
