Lakshmikanth Reddy. More than 150 to 200 ex-servicemen and their family members from Mysuru district and neighbouring regions attended the meeting and submitted petitions highlighting their grievances on various matters. Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shivaraj, Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) Commissioner Rakshit, and other officials were present. Several ex-servicemen urged the district administration to facilitate medical treatment for them at all major private hospitals in Mysuru, stating that treatment facilities were currently available only at two hospitals. In response, the officials have assured them that the request would be examined. Ex-servicemen from Kodagu, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts also participated in the meeting. Gajanan Bhat, president of the Naval Veterans’ Association, Mysuru, submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner outlining various demands. In a memorandum, the association sought the establishment of a Sainik Bhavan in Mysuru on the lines of the Police Bhavan and urged the DC to direct the MDA to allot a civic amenity site for the facility. The association noted that land had already been allotted for the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) and that construction of the building should be taken up at the earliest. It also demanded that, on the lines of the BBMP in Bengaluru, ex-servicemen be appointed as marshals in the Mysuru City Corporation.
