CM A. Revanth Reddy at a review meeting on CSR at the Assembly on Thursday. HYDERABAD Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the Telangana Government would introduce a special policy for effective utilisation of more Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds from corporate companies and industries. In a move to encourage companies to donate more CSR funds, the CM ordered officials to organise annual events to felicitate the managements and representatives of companies that contribute more CSR funds. The felicitation should be part of State Formation Day, he said. Mr. Reddy also decided to establish a dedicated CSR cell at the State-level with a separate office. The cell would be responsible for coordinating CSR initiatives, as well as compiling information on projects available across various government departments. A dedicated ‘Telangana CSR Portal’ was also approved. The portal will serve as an important link between the government and corporate entities. The portal will also feature comprehensive details of various projects — spanning across different government departments — open for corporate funding. The CM emphasised that the portal should be designed in an engaging and user-friendly manner, enabling corporate firms to easily connect with the government and select projects that align with their specific interests and objectives. During the meeting, the officials apprised the Chief Minister that TG’s share of CSR contributions currently stands at a mere 3% of the national total. The Chief Minister further instructed officials to study the strategies adopted by other States. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to CM Seshadri, Special Secretary to CM Ajit Reddy, Secretary to CM Manikyaraj, Yogita Rana, Shashanka, Bhavesh Mishra, Nikhil Chakravarthy, and other officials were present.
