The Telangana government is set to launch a large-scale public outreach programme titled, Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika, marking the third time the government will directly engage with citizens since assuming office under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Soon after coming to power, the government conducted ‘Praja Palana Gram Sabhas and Ward Sabhas’ from December 28, 2023, to January 6, 2024, providing a platform for citizens to submit applications for welfare schemes and raise local issues. The initiative was repeated for the second time during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, when gram sabhas and ward sabhas were organised again for three days across the State. Through these two rounds of direct engagement, the government interacted with people at the grassroots level, collected petitions from eligible beneficiaries, and assessed problems faced by communities. The applications received during these meetings formed the basis for implementing several welfare programmes. The government has now prepared a 99-day action plan, which will be implemented from March 6 to June 12, leading up to the Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2. The programme will involve all departments and will be implemented at five levels, from villages to the State level. As part of the initiative, all government offices from the village level to the state headquarters will undertake cleanliness drives and clearance of pending files starting March 6. District Collectors, secretaries of departments, and senior administrative officials will actively participate in the programme. In addition to gram sabhas and ward sabhas, special programmes will be organised at mandal headquarters, towns, constituencies, and district centres. Departments will set up special stalls and exhibitions to inform people about government schemes and services. The government aims to use these meetings to explain the benefits delivered through welfare schemes. The programme will also highlight reforms in the education and healthcare sectors. Plans to upgrade government schools and hospitals in line with emerging needs will be explained to the public. Focus will be on the creation of 100 Telangana Public Schools, Indiramma houses, promotion of renewable energy, especially solar power and how farmers can generate income through it. Employment generation will be another key component of the 99-day plan. Job fairs will be organised across almost all districts. The programme will also recognise the achievements of Indira Mahila Shakti groups and identify new business opportunities for women. The 99-day programme will be implemented in ten thematic weeks, each focusing on a specific sector.
