The Thumbe vented dam near Mangaluru. | Photo Credit: File photo The State government has imposed ₹18 lakh as liquidity damages on the contractor of the ‘Jalasiri’ project, which aims to augment drinking water supply infrastructure in the city, for not completing the project within the deadline, according to B.S. Suresh, Minister for Urban Development and Town Planning. Liquidity damages have been imposed on M/S SUEZ Projects Private Limited–DRS Infratech Private Limited (JV), the Minister told Ivan D’Souza, MLC, in a written reply during Zero Hour of the Legislative Council session which ended recently.
