The Lokayukta police, on Thursday, trapped a Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) official red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 to drop a road cutting violation case.

According to officials, the complainant, Abdul Rehman (49), a resident of R. T. Nagar, had alleged that his chipping machine used for road cutting was unauthorisedly seized from a work site. The accused government official allegedly demanded ₹10,000 for releasing the machine.

The accused, identified as M. Nagaraj (39), working with the GBA at Kaval Byrasandra, was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount. The accused was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and taken into custody for further investigation.
