Allahabad, March 17: In connection with the appeal put forward by Colonel Gidney in the Assembly on behalf of the Anglo-Indian community, The Pioneer says that one of the great grievances of Anglo-Indians has been the bar which has been placed upon their entry into the Army, and this, with various other issues attending the welfare of the community, is, The Pioneer understands receiving the very earnest consideration of the Government. As a result of the Memorandum presented by the Deputation which recently visited England, Lord Birkeuhead has addressed a lengthy note to the Government in India.

The communication, the paper understands, favours the formation of an Anglo-Indian Unit. The community played a part in the War which has not been properly recognised.
