It is alleged that, in order to bring these rights into the hands of three parties, a series of ferocious murders were perpetrated, including shootings of women in lone canyons, blowing up of Indian homes and murders by means of poisoned liquor. Only after a score of deaths had occurred did the authorities obtain, an alleged confession of one of the culprits.
