Despite receiving free pattas from Minister for Information and Publicity M.P. Saminathan, 12 beneficiaries belonging to the Scheduled Caste community of Kilaku Semai Valasu hamlet in Palayakottai Panchayat, Kangayam Taluk, are apparently unable to construct houses due to alleged interference by members of ruling DMK party belonging to the same community. Out of 22 members of the SC community who had applied for the free plots, 12 were chosen. Four ruling party members among those who had been left out are causing the obstruction, Vijayakumar, one of the beneficiaries said.
