A four-year-old’s courageous escape led to the discovery of his father’s murder near Boyakonda hillock in Annamayya district.

According to police, Gandhi and his wife Rasathi, natives of Tamil Nadu, were employed at a poultry farm in RR Colony, Chowdepalle mandal. On Sunday night (April 5, 2026), Gandhi attended a liquor party hosted by Narasimhulu—who was allegedly in a relationship with Rasathi—at a secluded spot near the hillock. Gandhi’s son, Sandeep, had accompanied him to the party.

During the party, a quarrel broke out between Gandhi and Narasimhulu. In the ensuing fight, Narasimhulu allegedly killed Gandhi by hitting him on the head with a boulder.

Terrified by the attack, Sandeep fled into the forest and remained there overnight. On Monday morning (April 6), an Anganwadi teacher spotted the boy emerging from the forest. His presence raised suspicion, leading to the discovery of the murder.

Police shifted the body to the government hospital in Punganur for a post-mortem and registered a case.
