Four people, including two women, from Manvi taluk in Raichur district died in the Tangabhadra near Kandkur village, Kosigi Mandal, in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Dasari Umavathi, 29-year-old Dasari Ratnamma, 20-year-old Dasari Shivanand and 28-year-old Mahantesh. Except for Dasari Ratnamma, the other three were from Kurdi village in Manvi taluk. Police sources said that the four died when they went for a swim in the river. They all went to Kosigi to attend a wedding ceremony on Tuesday. The Kosigi Police, who visited the spot, retrieved the bodies with the help of local swimmers and fishermen. A case has been registered in the Kosigi Police Station. Further investigation is under way.
