Four persons were arrested for killing a 23-year-old plumber identified as Mohammed Salman who was found at Ahmed Colony in Chandrayangutta with severe injuries and later succumbed while undergoing treatment.

The accused have been identified as 20-year-old Syed Abdullah, 20-year-old Syed Aman, 20-year-old Mohd Sarwar, and 25-year-old Shaik Matheen, all residents of Chandrayangutta.

According to the police, the incident occurred early on March 23 when Salman, along with his friend Irfan, was returning home after attending a Ramzan feast at Sultan Shahi. After a brief interaction, they left the spot but later returned to the same area, where an altercation broke out over some issue.

Police said Abdullah attacked Salman on the face using a knuckle duster and Aman is said to have hit him with a stone on the head and other parts of the body, while Matheen and Sarwar joined in assaulting him. When Irfan attempted to intervene, he was also assaulted.

Following the attack, Salman was shifted to Osmania General Hospital by his friend and family members. He died at about 1.21 a.m. on Friday (March 27) while undergoing treatment.

Based on a complaint, a case was initially registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Chandrayangutta police station. After his death, murder charge was added to the case.

The accused were apprehended on Friday near Falaknuma Railway Station while they were allegedly attempting to board a train to Gulbarga.
