The police arrested four persons on Tuesday evening in connection with an assault on a migrant youth working in a vegetable shop in Gummidipoondi. Mastan, 40, runs a vegetable shop in Prithivi Nagar, Gummidipoondi, in Tiruvallur district. Azhar, 25, a native of Bihar, works at the shop. On Monday, while Azhar was on duty at the shop, four persons who came to buy vegetables asked for curry leaves and got into an argument with him. As the argument escalated, one of the four allegedly assaulted Azhar. A video of the assault has gone viral on social media. Based on a complaint lodged by Mastan, Gummidipoondi police launched an investigation and arrested Prasad, 24, and Netaji, 28, of Kammavar Palayam near Gummidipoondi, along with two others on Tuesday in connection with the assault.
