Minister for Municipal Administration K.N. Nehru and Minister for School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new bus terminus at Tiruverumbur in Tiruchi on Saturday.

A sum of ₹6.10 crore had been sanctioned for the project under the Sixth State Finance Commission Grant 2025–26. The bus terminus will be built on an acre of land near the existing bus stand and is expected to serve as a major transit hub for the newly added wards in the area.

The terminus will include parking bays for 10 buses, space for 16 shops, a security room, a TNSTC room, timekeeper rooms, a feeding room, sanitation facilities, seating arrangements, surveillance cameras, and drinking water facilities.
