Former MLA Kondigari Ramulu (91) passed away on Friday. A respected leader in Telangana politics, he was known for his simplicity and lifelong commitment to communist ideals. He served as the MLA for the Ibrahimpatnam constituency for two consecutive terms, winning in 1989 and 1994 on a CPI(M) ticket. Before his legislative career, he rose through the ranks of the communist movement and even worked as a labourer on the Nagarjunasagar Project. Despite serving as a lawmaker twice, he led a humble life in a small 120-square-yard house in Ibrahimpatnam, relying solely on his government pension. Former CM K. Chandrashekhar Rao and working president K.T. Rama Rao and TPCC president Mahesh Goud expressed deep grief, describing him as a ‘man of the people’ whose life serves as an inspiration for future generations.
