Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren’s grandson Veer died in Manali on February 24, 2026. | Photo Credit: ANI Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren’s grandson passed away in Manali on Tuesday (February 24, 2026), the BJP leader said on Wednesday. Mr. Soren said that his grandson, Veer Soren, 19, died after suddenly falling ill. In a post written in Hindi on X, the leader said that Veer was taken to a hospital but could not be saved. “I am informing with a heavy heart that my dead grandson Veer Soren has died on February 24, 2026. He fell ill in Himachal Pradesh and was rushed to a hospital, but fate had something else in store for us. Our entire family is shattered by Veer’s death,” he posted. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace at the feet of Marang Buru, and may the grieving family be granted strength to bear this unbearable sorrow. After Hemant Soren was released from jail, Champai Soren left the JMM citing “humiliation” and joined the BJP. He is the sitting MLA from Seraikella Assembly constituency.
