Former Bajrang Dal district president murdered in Pudukottai, financial dispute suspected

A former district president of the Bajrang Dal in Pudukottai, S. Mohanraj, 38, was murdered at Tiruvappur in Pudukottai town on Friday (February 13, 2026).

Police sources said Mohanraj was inside his house when an unidentified person entered the premises and hacked him to death in the morning, before fleeing. Preliminary inquiries revealed that a dispute relating to a financial transaction was behind the killing of Mohanraj, who is alleged have to been in debt. 

Local police personnel inspected the crime scene and conducted inquiries. Forensic experts inspected the spot. The body, which had multiple cut injuries in the neck and stomach, was shifted to the Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The Thirugokarnam police are investigating the case.
