Flying squad seizes ₹35 lakh of unaccounted cash

A team of ECI Flying Squad coming under the Triplicane police limits seized unaccounted cash of ₹35 lakh from a man near Anna Salai on Wednesday evening. 

City police said S. Anil Kumar Singh was traveling in his two-wheeler on G.P. Road towards Sowcarpet, and as he neared the Ellis Road – Wallajah Salai junction, the Election Flying Squad Team-2 of the Harbour Constituency intercepted and searched him.

During the search, they seized ₹35,00,000 in cash that was being carried without any supporting documentation. The individual was subsequently taken to the Chennai Collector’s Office and later escorted to the Income Tax Department office located in Nungambakkam.

Upon inquiry, it was found that the seized cash belongs to M. Kamal, a financier and resident of Ashok Nagar. Further Investogation is on.
