The Courtallam police have arrested three persons, including a 17-year-old boy, for allegedly murdering a flour mill owner. The police said Ramanathan alias Ramkumar of Veeravanallur near Cheranmahadevi in Tirunelveli district, owner of a flour mill, who was renting out furniture, had enmity with broiler shop owner Selva Manikandan of the same area after the former refused to give tables and chairs to the later. When Selva Manikandan’s friend Gowtham, 22, also from the same area, came to the shop of Ramkumar on Monday to resolve the issues, the two left the shop. As Ramkumar’s mobile phone remained switched off for a few hours, his wife Usha Rani filed a complaint with the Veeravanallur police. During investigation, the police found that Ramanathan had been abducted to a cottage in Courtallam where he was found murdered. The Courtallam police have registered a case and arrested Selva Manikandan, Gowtham, and a 17-year-old boy.
