The State government has accorded Cabinet rank to the chairpersons of various boards, corporations and authorities with immediate effect, to remain in force until further orders. Fifty-four chairpersons across the State have been granted the status of State Ministers, entitling them to facilities and privileges applicable to Cabinet rank functionaries. Of these, five chairpersons from Kalaburagi district have been elevated to Cabinet rank. Those from Kalaburagi district include Syed Mohammed Ali Al Hussaini, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Wakf Board; Neelakantharao Mulge, Chairperson of the Karnataka State Spices Development Corporation; Arun Kumar Patil, Chairperson of the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation; Syed Mohammed Chishti, Chairperson of the Pulses Development Board; and Devendrappa Martur, Chairperson of the Sheep and Wool Development Corporation. The order was issued by N.R. Bandarangayya, Under Secretary in the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, directing that all facilities entitled to Cabinet-rank Ministers be extended to the chairpersons with immediate effect.
