The first randomisation of allocating micro observers to 246 sensitive booths in 203 polling stations in the six Assembly constituencies of the district was completed on Tuesday.

As the Election Commission has mandated the deployment of a micro observer and an armed jawan of Central Police Force in sensitive booths besides webcasting the entire polling, 244 micro observers, including 20% reserve micro observers, have to be allotted for these places. Hence, the first randomisation of micro observers for the Assembly constituencies was completed on Tuesday in the presence of Collector K. Elambahavath and Observers Yeluchuri Ratnakara Rao for Thoothukudi and Vilathikulam, Zodingpuii for Tiruchendur and Srivaikuntam and Arvind Kumar Verma for Ottapidaram and Kovilpatti. Police Observer Hiremath Sudhir Kallya and Expenditure Observer Nakul Agarwal.

Hence micro observers were allotted to Vilaaththikulam (36), Thoothukudi (47), Tiruchendur (37), Srivaikundam (37), Ottapidaaram (51) and Kovilpatti (36).

Allocation of exact booth for these micro observers will be done during the second randomisation.
