In preparation for the upcoming Assembly elections, the first phase of checking electronic voting machines (EVMs) has commenced at the warehouse in the Cantonment compound. Led by District Collector and District Election Officer N. Devidas, the inspection is being conducted in the presence of representatives from recognised political parties. This initial phase is expected to take 25 to 30 days. Under the supervision of authorised engineers from Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), the machines will undergo thorough physical and technical evaluations, including cleaning and operational testing of all units. To ensure transparency, arrangements have been made for political party representatives to directly observe and assess the First Level Checking (FLC) process.
