Minister for Local Self-government M.B. Rajesh officiated the State-level inauguration of the Kerala Chicken ‘Snacks Bar’, which is part of the Kudumbashree’s Kerala Chicken project, here on Tuesday. The first ‘Snacks Bar’ opened on Arappura Road, Vattiyurkavu, in the State capital. Run by Kudumbashree members, the ‘Snacks Bar’ will serve value-added products such as broasted chicken, samosa, chicken nuggets, cutlet, momos, and juices. It will also make available frozen chicken from Kerala Chicken farms. The stall is run by Shaheena M., member of the Lotus neighbourhood group in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation CDS (community development society) 3. The Kudumbashree hopes to open the ‘Snacks Bar’ in all districts this year itself. Kudumbashree executive director H. Dineshan was present at the function. Kudumbashree Broiler Farmers Producer Company manages the activities of Kerala Chicken. At present, Kerala Chicken accounts for 10% of the State’s domestic chicken production.
