Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday said that instead of Rythu Bharosa, farmers are benefiting with about ₹25,000 each through the paddy bonus.

Recognizing the hard work of farmers, a bonus of ₹500 per quintal is being deposited directly into the accounts of those cultivating fine paddy. He added that under Rythu Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore was credited to farmers’ accounts within just nine days.

Speaking in the Assembly during the motion of Thanks to Governor’s address, he further said that over ₹20,000 crore per year is being deposited into the accounts of women under interest-free loan schemes through self-help groups, and so far ₹57,000 crore has been credited. He emphasised that when women prosper, families and the State as a whole progress.

He criticised BRS leaders, stating that the people of the State are well aware of the lack of respect they show towards women. He alleged that Mr. K.T. Rama Rao repeatedly makes remarks that hurt women’s sentiments and advised him to speak more responsibly. He said Mr. Rao appears to be speaking without proper understanding and added that if they truly cared about women’s development, they would have given women adequate representation in their Cabinet.

He affirmed that the government is continuing to provide interest-free loans and aims to make one crore women millionaires, regardless of obstacles. He said the people’s government treats women with dignity and has introduced free bus travel for women across the State. This facility was implemented within an hour of taking oath, and the government is regularly reimbursing RTC for the fare costs.

He hit out at the previous government for making promises about double-bedroom houses but failing to deliver over ten years. In contrast, he said the present government has sanctioned ₹5 lakh per house and initiated construction. In the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses (3,500 per constituency) are being built, with ₹22,500 crore allocated in a single tranche for Indiramma housing – calling it a record in the country’s history.

He concluded by stating that the present government is fulfilling the six guarantees promised during elections, while the previous regime failed to implement key promises such as double-bedroom houses, one job per household, a Dalit Chief Minister, and land distribution to the landless poor even after ten years in power.
