Explosive hurled at channel office in Kollam

The police have filed a case in an incident where a burning bottle was thrown at the office of Reporter TV channel here on Sunday morning.

According to the police, an unidentified gang hurled an explosive identified as a beer bottle filled with petrol at the office around 3 a.m. on Sunday. CCTV footage from the area reveals two individuals arriving on a motorcycle. One of them is seen scouting the premises before lighting and throwing the explosive substance at the building, after which the duo flee the scene.

Reporter TV correspondent Jayasankar has filed a formal complaint with the District Police Chief (Kollam City), and an investigation focused on the surveillance footage is currently under way. The Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) Kollam district committee has strongly condemned the late-night attack. The union has demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the incident.
