Explosion threat on social media; case booked in Ullal

The Mangaluru city police booked a case against a person who posted on social media seeking support for carrying out an explosion near a place of worship in Ullal.

In the complaint, police constable Santhosh Doddamani stated that a post, which featured a photograph of Suhas Shety, the former Bajrang Dal activist who was murdered in May 2025, was uploaded on social media. In the post, a user with the handle ‘Shankar11916’ wrote, ‘Support Madi bro Ullal masjid hatra blast maadtini’ (Support me brother; I will blast an explosive near Ullal Masjid).
