Expenditure Observer conducts meeting with officials in Edappadi

The Election Expenditure Observer for the Edappadi Assembly constituency, Manpreet Singh Duggal, held a consultation meeting with officials here on Thursday (March 19, 2026).

Earlier, Mr. Duggal visited the Edappadi Taluk office and had a meeting with the Assistant Expenditure Observer, Returning Officer, and Assistant Returning Officer. Later, at the travellers bungalow, Mr. Duggal held a meeting with officials and instructed the flying squad, static surveillance, accounting and video surveillance teams. He instructed on the standard procedures to be followed during vehicle checks, coordination with income tax officials while seizing goods and cash worth more than ₹10 lakh, basic training on the ESMS website and ensuring basic amenities for the teams.

Mr. Duggal also made a surprise visit to TASMAC outlets in the constituency and verified stock positions in the shops and inspected on overstocking. He also checked the registers, recent procurement patterns, and sale volumes.
