Former MLA of Davangere Yajman Mothi Veeranna passed away in Davangere on Saturday. He was 90 and was having age-related health issues. He is survived by two sons, including film producer Yajman Mothi Rajendra, and a daughter. Mothi Veeranna had won on Congress ticket from Davangere in 1989 and subsequently won as JD(S) candidate in 2004. He had earned the tile ‘Yajman’ because of his discipline, conduct and ‘zamindari’ background. He had also served as president of Davangere Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Several people paid last respects at his residence in Davangere and took part in the funeral on Saturday evening. Senior political leaders from across the region were among those who paid their last respects.
