Environmental group welcomes court order on halting PRASHAD works atop Chamundi Hill

‘Parisarakkaagi Naavu’, an environmental organisation based in Mysuru, has welcomed the interim order of the Karnataka High Court halting the ongoing works under the ‘PRASHAD’ scheme atop Chamundi Hill.

The organisation alleged that the Deputy Commissioner had ignored repeated appeals regarding the project from Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, environmental groups, and devotees. It criticised the administration’s handling of the issue despite representations and protests from various quarters.
