Election Observers appointed for the upcoming legislative assembly election for Thoothukudi district arrived in the district on Wednesday.

A review meeting on election preparedness was held on Thursday, in the presence of Thoothukudi District Collector and District Election Officer K. Elambahavath and District Superintendent of Police C. Madhan.

The general observers for six constituencies across Thoothukudi district are as follows: Yeluchuri Ratnakara Rao for Thoothukudi and Vilathikulam, Zodingpuii for Tiruchendur and Srivaikuntam and Arvind Kumar Verma for Ottapidaram and Kovilpatti.

Hiremath Sudhir Kallya has been deployed as police observer for Thoothukudi district.

The expenditure observers are Shiv Prasad Pal for Vilathikulam, Nakul Agarwal for Thoothukudi and Tiruchendur, Sunny Kachhwaha for Srivaikuntam and Anup Kumar Jain for Ottapidaram and Kovilpatti.

Following the meeting,election observers began their field inspections.

Mr. Rao, appointed as general observer for Thoothukudi, visited various polling stations in the city. Thoothukudi Revenue Divisional Officer and Returning officer M. Prabhu and other officials accompanied him during the inspection.
