Election observers are taking stock of the arrangements at the polling booths across eight Assembly constituencies in Tiruppur district. The officials are determining the arrangements made to ensure power and water availability on the day of the polls. On Saturday, general observer for Palladam and Tiruppur South Assembly constituencies Dharmendra Singh visited 21 polling booths. On Friday, Mr. Singh inspected the Integrated Command and Control Centre established in the Tiruppur Corporation office for responding to election-related complaints from the public. Corporation Commissioner M.P. Amith and other senior officials explained the working of the cVIGIL Citizen App of the Election Commission of India to enable citizens to report violations of the Model Code of Conduct. The officials apprised the election observer about deployment of flying squad teams, static surveillance teams, and video surveillance teams. Defacement on walls of government and private buildings have been removed, a senior Corporation official said.
