Upon learning that eight Plus Two students of the Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, who had been issued transfer certificates (TCs)during the course of the current academic year either due to poor academic capability or attendance shortage had not appeared for the public examinations, officials of the School Education Department have initiated an inquiry. The headmistress, Shanthi, was asked by the officials to explain why transfer certificates were issued to a total of 41 students from levels VI to XII. The department has asked the school authorities to furnish the current status of the 18 Plus One students who had been issued transfer certificates, sources added.
