The EAGLE Force apprehended six persons for consuming narcotic substances during a raid conducted at Taramati Baradari in Golconda on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5. Police said the venue was hosting a themed party featuring an international DJ, and intelligence inputs indicated possible drug consumption among attendees. Five teams were formed to conduct the raid without disrupting the event. A total of 35 individuals were initially shortlisted based on suspicion. During checks using urine testing kits, five persons tested positive for ganja, while one tested positive for amphetamine-type substances. The accused were identified as Sarwar, a model and actor, Nihar, a businessman, Aashi, his spouse, Jason, a DJ, Yogeshwar, a businessman, and Abinash, a pharmaceutical analyst. Officials said information on the accused persons’ networks has been collected and their families will be informed, with steps being taken to ensure they undergo de-addiction programmes.
