Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said that the police department plays a crucial role in achieving the State’s goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

With several investors evincing interest in investing in the State, maintenance of law and order would be of utmost importance. The Home department officials and personnel should not give scope for even the slightest lapse, and ensure that every department remains under constant surveillance.

The Deputy Chief Minister made the comments participating in the pre-budget meetings of the Home department and Industries and IT department on Thursday.

He said Hyderabad was rapidly emerging as a leading global city and steps should be initiated to gradually scale up use of electric vehicles in the police department. The department should take steps to expand the usage of the CCTV network across the State, and repairs to the existing CCTV network should be carried out wherever necessary, he said.

Referring to the industrial progress, he said achieving the $3 trillion economy would necessitate adoption of public private partnership mode and the Industries department should prepare plans accordingly. While promoting the CURE and PURE economies, equal importance should be given to the rural agricultural economy. Officials should accordingly prepare plans to attract large scale investment and industries to give fillip to RARE.

Industries and IT Minister D. Srihar Babu said the State ranked first in the country with 41 global capability centres and the government was committed to maintaining the momentum in this direction.

Mr. Bhatti Vikramarka suggested that the department take steps to promote large scale use of artificial intelligence in data centres.
