Head Constable Swaroopa undertook investigations and filed the chargesheets in Telugu, the official language of Telangana, for two cases handled by her in 2025, with the encouragement of her senior officers. Police officials said the initiative is particularly significant as a large section of the public, in both rural and urban areas, continues to face difficulties in understanding English-language legal documents. In the first case, Dundigal police arrested a man identified as Venkatesh of Bourampet for allegedly storing and selling liquor illegally from his grocery shop. After completing the investigation under the Excise Act, Swaroopa submitted the chargesheet entirely in Telugu before the First Class Magistrate at Medchal. In another case, a 35-year-old migrant worker woman and her four-year-old daughter went missing during the night, prompting the woman’s husband to approach the police. Acting on the complaint, Dundigal police traced the woman and child and reunited them with their family. Following the completion of the investigation, the official submitted her final report in Telugu to ACP Medchal, Shankar Reddy. In recognition of her work, Head Constable Swaroopa was among 50 police personnel who recently received commendations from State Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy and Cyber Security Bureau Director Shikha Goel at an event at the Telangana Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills.
