About 180 passengers of a Dubai-bound SpiceJet flight have been stranded at the Calicut international airport, Karipur, Kerala, following a major delay in the flight operation.

The flight, initially scheduled to depart from Karipur at 11.50 p.m. on Monday (January 5, 2026), was rescheduled for Tuesday morning. Although the passengers reached the airport on Monday evening, they were reportedly informed of the rescheduling much later.

They were shifted to a hotel Monday late night. The flight, rescheduled for 10.30 a.m. on Tuesday, was further delayed, leaving the passengers agitated.

Airline officials, meanwhile, said the delay was due to “a technical issue.”
